CROWLANDS Golf Club claimed yet more junior medals on Saturday, as they prepare for next Sunday's Youth Shield quarter-final.

First honours to go at the Wood Lane course were 'nearest the pins', as Alfie Nevill took the first on the second hole, as he put his tee shot four feet from the pin.

The next contest on the 17th was won by Jack Staines with a fantastic strike leaving himself only two feet short.

The under-16 handicap section was won by Jack Marshall with a solid net four under-par 61 to just beat the new club champion Chay Pratt into second place by a shot.

The over-16 section was then taken with another impressive performance from Alfie Yeoman, as he shot a fine net 10 under-par 55.

Yeoman, Staines and Matthew Channon now compete in this week's Nick Faldo Wedge tournament at Three Rivers Golf Club today (Wednesday).

Then next week is the big one, as the Youth Shield team travel to West Essex for a first ever last-eight match against Burstead.
