Dagenham BC announce AmBox summer scheme

Dagenham Boxing Club will be organising the popular AmBox Contender Summer Scheme during the school holidays, at their Heathway gym headquarters, for three weeks.
The scheme, for 8-16 year olds follows the pattern that attracted hundreds of youngsters to the local Police and Community Club last year with the format on three day sessions of non contact amateur boxing skills, including basic footwork, straight punching with fully qualified instructors taking the course.
Several interactive games will be included in the scheme, with local police officers booked for 'Be Safe' talks on gang intervention and dangers of carrying weapons.
Also, a sports nutritionist will be on hand to advise the youngsters on weight management and healthy eating.
The Heathway-based club anticipate a keen demand for places on the summer scheme and advise that the best way to get a place on this three-day course is via the web on this link: www.futureversity.org
Then applicants can complete the online form selecting the appropriate dates.
The only other way to book your place on this scheme is at the Dagenham Town Show in the end marquee.
The Dagenham club's annual presentation night is on Friday at the Eastbrook Pub function suite, Dagenham Road.
As usual some 24 awards ranging in various categories from Effort & Endeavour to Best Club Boxer, Prospect, Stylist and even best looking.
Several senior ABA personnel will be making the time to hand over the awards to the successful youngsters with presentations starting a 8pm.
